Reunion
Another day of lunch, gymnastics, and Catapult. This time for lunch I chose Jersey Mike's, a sandwich shop right next to gymnastics. As we entered the manager called out a pleasant greeting, but informed us that they were waiting on a truck and were currently out of lettuce. No problem! We waited for the customer in front of us who seemed unable to successfully order her meal as she kept talking to the staff. We never ascertained the problem, but it was multiple conversations, changes, and issues for a single sandwich. When she finally finished, the entire staff seemed relieved. We placed our orders seemingly much faster despite us ordering four times the sandwiches. The manager even made good on my joke that we'd like to replace the missing lettuce with bacon. Apparently he agreed that that is an excellent substitution. While we ate, he dropped by our table to hand us each a voucher for a free sandwich on a future visit as well. Over the top great service!
The off to Catapult for an afternoon of jumping. Unfortunately, not long after we arrived, Bailey came to me crying saying she had injured her shoulder. While she's normally a tough kid, her reaction told me something was seriously wrong. I gave her a few minutes to settle, but her pain persisted, so off we went to urgent care. Huge thanks to IndigoHealth for making things quick and easy. We left knowing that while significant damage and bruising had occurred, there were no breaks.
For the evening I headed up to Laughing Dragon for Friday Night Magic. Due to the joys of UrgentCare I arrived too late to play, but still in time to visit with friends and hang out. Luckily someone had picked up Panda Express and I realized that I hadn't eaten in about 8 hours.
After a few hours of hanging out, I headed over to the airport for a long awaited reunion with my husband. His delayed flight finally landed around midnight and it felt just like when I used to fly to Seattle to visit him in the early days of our relationship. It may sound cheesy, but the excitement of being together hasn't faded even after fifteen or so years. We caught up on everything both bursting with stories to tell as we headed back to grandma's and fell into bed.
It was a crazy, busy, rewarding day, but unfortunately I didn't take a single picture. I'll do better in the future.
