A Day of Delicious
Our friends suggested the Hershey's Chocolate World. As a chocolate lover myself, delight filled my face as I discovered the attractions a 20 minute drive from Baldy's home. We arrived just in time to cruise the parking lot for license plates then head inside for our first event: a tasting experience. This featured some silly guides, amazing dad jokes, and a pointless plot that provided a lot of laughs. Each part of the show directed us to taste accompanying bites of chocolate with explanations about flavors and such. The experience set the tone for the day as we worked our way through a ride through a the chocolate making process, a 4D interactive train ride simulation, and a narrated trolley tour of the area. The tour guides put on quite a show with 2 people posing as at least 6 characters singing, handing out samples, and sharing the area's history. We returned for a second spin on the tour ride while perusing the gift shop, enjoying some treats, and checking out the food court. We ended the experience by making our own chocolate bars designing the flavors and packaging ourselves. We picked up some treats from the gift shop on our way out the door, our stomachs and hands full from the adventure.
When we arrived home, our amazing host had prepared a pasta bar for dinner with a variety of pastas, sauces, meats, and treats. I loved the gnocchi, homemade alfredo sauce, roasted parmesan broccolini, and cheesy garlic bread. The kids also sampled sausage, meatballs, chicken, vodka sauce, rotini, spaghetti, and more. We ate our fill while getting to know his friendly roommates, and are now relaxing playing some video games and eating pie for dessert.
**For those of you who may not know, Baldy is not only an excellent cook, I own much of my cooking knowledge to his instruction. He's also the owner of Baldy's Blends which I personally use when I cook. I highly recommend these products to turn regular food into to something amazing regardless of your culinary skill level.
